Many treasures lie under the sea, but will Alistar find the one that will make ‘The Perfect Birthday Present’ for his mom? Join this adventurous little sea star and his best buddy Barnaby (a blob fish) as they travel through the beautiful deep blue sea, meeting many other creatures of the deep. When the two friends finally stumble upon the perfect present, Alistar needs to make a difficult decision, which only he can make. When he does, the little sea star learns that there are times when it is not the present that is important, but the thought behind it.

For Linda Crowley, the first day of the year had always been set aside to work on new, positive beginnings and 1970 was no different. Her husband and children were by all accounts healthy and no one even considered the terrible thought that tragedy would strike before the day was over, and life as she had known it was gone.

What A Find!

Some years ago I became acquainted with a rock musician from LA. She needed a place to stay while playing a gig here in Boston. We corresponded back and forth, but then the gig didn’t happen. We lost touch, but I kept following her musical career on Facebook. Since then she’s made two CD’s and . . . → Read More: What A Find!

Because She’s All About That Bass

On a day when the news about Robin Williams saddens me, I feel the need to share something lively and positive. RIP Robin Williams – because you were always so funny and made me laugh like no other – but you also found a way to bring the serious things to the surface, too.

Pray For Peace

To me, Reba McEntire has always been not only an extraordinary artist, but a deeply caring, humble, and thankful person. She never placed value on her fame and fortune. She clearly communicates God has given her all she has and she is to use it to help others. Reba is clear proof that when you . . . → Read More: Pray For Peace

Go Be Happy

“Because I’m happy…” ring the words of Pharrell Williams’ latest hit to run across all forms of media. He has everyone from 2 to 102 dancing and clapping their hands. Just watching the video on my iPad after it was shared on Facebook this morning was enough to get me out of my chair and . . . → Read More: Go Be Happy

V is for Victory

Here we are again…Friday so soon! The letter for the A-Z Fun Friday blog hop is V. V is for victory. I followed the X Factor for many weeks. These two captivated me right from their audition. M is for Meditation

Back in August I started to take a serious look at meditation. Prayer I’m good with. Meditation…ah…not so much. In August I gave it my first serious shot with the Oprah/Deepak 21 day meditation challenge. I figured I needed something with a commitment, instructions, and a lot of structure for me to be able to . . . → Read More: M is for Meditation

Let Her Go

The last few days my daughters have been “welcoming me back into the working world” as I grappled with computers and finding that all-important cup of afternoon coffee. Today, sitting on a quiet beach, watching the tide go out, I thought more about that – returning to the working world. It turns out that I . . . → Read More: Let Her Go

No Chairs!

Tonight hubby and I had lawn tickets to Maroon 5 and Kelly Clarkson at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in NY. We have attended concerts at this venue since we were seventeen, back when lawn tickets were two bucks. (These were forty apiece) We used to bring our girls to concerts here when they were . . . → Read More: No Chairs!

Sooo…Let’s Talk Miley…

These past few years no one has pulled more stunts than Gaga – wait – stunts was the wrong word. Gaga doesn’t pull “stunts”. Whether you like her work or not, she’s a true artist and what she shocks us with on stage is always an interpretation of well-written music, behind which she has a . . . → Read More: Sooo…Let’s Talk Miley…
