Many treasures lie under the sea, but will Alistar find the one that will make ‘The Perfect Birthday Present’ for his mom? Join this adventurous little sea star and his best buddy Barnaby (a blob fish) as they travel through the beautiful deep blue sea, meeting many other creatures of the deep. When the two friends finally stumble upon the perfect present, Alistar needs to make a difficult decision, which only he can make. When he does, the little sea star learns that there are times when it is not the present that is important, but the thought behind it.

For Linda Crowley, the first day of the year had always been set aside to work on new, positive beginnings and 1970 was no different. Her husband and children were by all accounts healthy and no one even considered the terrible thought that tragedy would strike before the day was over, and life as she had known it was gone.

The Best Birthday Message

Today the calendar says I am 63 years old. When I was younger, I never pictured myself doing what I am doing at this age. If you told me when I was still teaching that when I retired I'd be working full time managing a health club and training people, I would never have believed . . . → Read More: The Best Birthday Message

A Bucket For My Birthday

Birthdays, as birthdays go for most people, are not something we like to discuss unless you’re in grade school or about to be able to get a driver’s license or be allowed to drink legally. After that birthdays are not well-received. The first feared birthday is the 30th one. This one leaves childhood far behind . . . → Read More: A Bucket For My Birthday

A Day of News

Today I spent the day giving the house a much needed fall cleaning, putting up fall decorations, lighting apple spice candles, opening windows and giving gratitude for each blessing I touched as I moved and dusted objects throughout my home. ‘Rounding The Bend

Currently I’m reading Return To Sullivan’s Island (Lowcountry Tales) by Dorothea Benton Frank. Her writing is not as deep and heart touching as Kristin Hannah, but the books flow with a great storyline. Last night I came across two thoughts that, today, on the morning of my sixtieth birthday, intersected. One was that two days . . . → Read More: ‘Rounding The Bend

Aging – The Theme of the Day

Today was what I refer to as a “themed day.” A themed day is when everything that crosses my path intersects or connects somehow. Today that theme was aging.

I woke up to Facebook urging me to wish my husband Richard a happy 60th birthday tomorrow. Since we were born two weeks apart (in . . . → Read More: Aging – The Theme of the Day

The Landscape of Aging

The summer cardio workouts are out at Koko Fit Club. Summer Hike is already my favorite. While I’m “hiking” on the elliptical Michael Wood fitness trainer is talking to me. Today he started with this quote:

Being fit, or getting fit, at middle age, even if you’ve never worked out before, changes the landscape of . . . → Read More: The Landscape of Aging

Pink Wine

Ten years ago I was introduced to wine. I didn’t understand wine. It didn’t taste very good, so my husband suggested I try white zin. White zin was a very pretty pink wine, a bit sweet and I fell in love with it. After about five years my husband suggested I branch out. Try white . . . → Read More: Pink Wine

The other day I noticed how much I was limiting myself in the gym over the years by not ever upping the weights because I honestly didn’t think I could press more. Today, doing lateral chest pulls, it once again showed how I limited myself. I’m doing 50 pounds now, and for ten years I . . . → Read More: Stats!
